My Personal Journey

My journey in fitness is colored with so many layers, roads, and routines. My definition of fitness has changed with each season I have entered, and with this, I have learned to work hard at discipline but also give my body grace.

The one thing that has remained constant is prioritizing consistent movement and continuous learning of what fitness/health truly is and what it is not.

I have a passion for exploring and digging deeper into how our bodies can strive to thrive mentally, physically, and spiritually on a more holistic level and a deep desire to share this information with others in the sense of empowering their own decisions. I love to see the light bulb turn on for others and see people have the courage to believe there are many definitions to health, not just what the mass media or “conventional” medicine declares.

I love to see people love their bodies for what they can do and have yet to do versus their limitations or defeats.

I love to see mindset transformations before body transformations.

The Journey of Foundation FIT

My husband, Dan, and I started Foundation FIT, Home of CrossFit Wando, after 10 years of working in the “large” gym world. We craved a smaller environment where we could have a more significant impact.

We have been more than blessed along the way, growing from a 2400 square-foot rental space to an 8000 foot owned building. We have had the opportunity to expand our team from 5 to 12. We have been inspired and cared for by a community of athletes and coaches who feel like a family.

When you live out your passion and truly strive to hear and follow the mission God has set before you, you thrive.

Going from no children to three…with the final surprise at 42, and now homeschooling, obstacles to growing/running a business are apparent! But again, there have been so many blessings in this!

Our children get to see firsthand how important it is to take care of the one body you have been given, how discipline and learning play into the journey, and how the greatest gift in life is serving others.

We hold the key to the next generation’s path, and it is not a job to be taken lightly.

We are so thankful for the obstacles, blessings, and gifts we have been given in this journey and look forward to serving our community for decades to come.
